It’s about time I wrote about something happy. With all the sadness that has spread in every corner of the globe, we often forget to take into account all the milestones we’ve crossed along the way. We often forget to see how we’ve blossomed over time. What often seemed like an insurmountable peak long ago, has now become a small hill.
We often forget that our greatest heroes lie within us, and that we fail to give ourselves credit for being brave, for being strong, and for being ourselves in the first place. We all conquer our fears, by diving in head first, and realizing that there was nothing to fear in the first place. We are the sum of our risks, and the sum of our stories thus far. For far too long, we give ourselves very little credit for all the good we have within us.
This song is just that little anthem, to help you believe in yourself a little more. To show the world what you’ve become. And to be proud of the person you are today.
Something that I’ve always found trouble with over the last few years is trying to open myself up to working with more people. To be more trusting and believing the in the abilities of others. Over the years, I’ve felt many instances under-confidence in my abilities and sometimes when working with someone else on your own song, you worry whether you’re good enough to have them be a part of it.
But the reality of it is that, you learn how much better you can be. And that’s why I have my old friend Shubh Saran with me, on this song! For years I’ve admired his growth and commitment to becoming the best he can possibly be. Having come from the same school, and followed the same path, and explored new things, it’s just amazing to get to work with someone who helps you bring such an amazing flavor to your music. Plus he’s a pretty kickass dude.
So I hope this song helps you bloom into the wonderful flower that you are. To keep that fire burning within you.
lyrics
Wildfire
Verse 1
Wait a minute
Cause I’ve been caught
In the Wildfire of
A super second
A super deep breath
In the garden of you
Long lost love
Chorus
Next to you
I’ve been caught
In the Wildfire of
No second guesses
No settling with
Only for a weekend
Next to you
Cause I’ve been caught
In the Wildfire of
No second guesses
I have a little trouble
With the Deep end
Verse 2
Come away
To a place
You’ll understand soon
But I’ve been running
To face the cold and
Away from you
Get away
Where the flowers are
Just like you
Look, spring is here
But I’m too afraid
to Bloom
Chorus
Next to you
I’ve been caught
In the Wildfire of
No second guesses
No settling with
Only for a weekend
Next to you
Cause I’ve been caught
In the Wildfire of
No second guesses
I have a little trouble
With the Deep end
Next to you
I’ve been caught
In the Wildfire of
No second guesses
No settling with
Only for a weekend
Next to you
Cause I’ve been caught
In the Wildfire of
No second guesses
I have a little trouble
With the Deep end
